Many in US still work multiple jobs

The proportion of employed Americans working multiple jobs is virtually unchanged since the economy started picking up in 2009. While unemployment hovers near historic lows and the economy continues to boom, Bloomberg reports that pay gains have been disappointing and employers are reluctant to increase hours and benefits. Those factors result in about 5% of Americans doing additional work. Economists point out that the group may also include younger people looking for a better work-life balance through the gig economy and educated people looking for the challenge of additional work.
